Stripping/Polishing Clearcoated Wheels

I'm not responsible if you get this on anything other than your wheels! Also it will not harm your tires or valve stems!

Are you tired of having dingy old clearcoated wheels? Well there's a solution to that. Go to any parts house and pick up you some Aircraft Paint Remover. It comes in a can for brushing on or you can buy it in a spray can. Here's how to do it.

First brush/spray the remover onto your wheels. Let sit for apprx 25-30 mins. Within minutes you will see the clearcoat releasing from the wheels.

After 25-30 minutes you can clean it off. I used a pressure washer but if you dont have one you can use a rag or a waterhose. If you still see some clearcoat on the wheels then just repeat the steps.

Then dry your wheels off and just polish the raw aluminum to a shine. I used Meguiars polish on mine.

Here they are finished!

Looks crazy good... I went the opposite route and painted mine back. ha ha, but Im assuming this would work for paint too so if I ever get tired of it I know what to do. polishing pitted aluminum sucks though.

I don't have a clear coat, but I do want to re-polish my WELDS to brighten them up. They are getting dull from dirt and road spray. What do you recommend for a polish brush/tool?
