06VT365 03-22-2012 12:16 PM

westtnfx4 03-22-2012 12:50 PM

:jester:

01 D_Max 03-22-2012 01:02 PM

I might just consider a swap for that price!!! Then again maybe not.

As much as I love the Cummins motor, I Love my Allison trans.

Midnight Smoker 03-22-2012 01:05 PM

It'd be a nice starting place for a motor swap into an older project

westtnfx4 03-22-2012 01:05 PM

You can build a non Allison tranny that will be Just as tough if not tougher.:challenge:

01 D_Max 03-22-2012 01:08 PM

I love the shifting of the allison. It is the smartest transmission.... It knows what to do and right when to do it. Plus it's tough, and shift points are even.

westtnfx4 03-22-2012 01:11 PM

I tell you what my built 48re is pretty smart. The way it shifts and when is a perfect match. It feels like it can't break :alone:

01 D_Max 03-22-2012 01:30 PM

I havnt rode in a Dodge with the 48re. gonna have to now.

Mine feels good too, if you're on the fuel. Cruising around it stutters a bit. I really wish I had a 6 speed. I'd never wear out a clutch the way I shift...

Stroked68 03-22-2012 04:03 PM

That would be a good transplant for one of my projects.

The billet internals have alot to do with mine. It never stutters or misses a beat. It seems to always know when is the right gear. I love the up shift as well. My truck dosent have a programmer either

Big'un 03-22-2012 08:23 PM

well, the oldest is 9, the size of a 12 year old, the smarts of a HS frosh, and the sass of a HS senior... 1200 might be too low for her. will you take two four year olds instead?

Bdons-SD 03-24-2012 12:10 AM
