normal egt's

What's normal???? What's high???? What's low???? I'm just curious my truck runs around 200 driving around never seen it go above more than a few seconds when I've gotten on it.

200 seems low. mines around 4-600 normal driving, ive never seen mine above 900. 1200 is too hot.

Bdons-SD 09-09-2012 12:15 AM

where is your probe drilled into the exhaust? mines on the down pipe so its probably 100 degrees off.

Mine runs an avg of 6-800...can easily climb to 12-1300 which is where I start backing out. But it all in how long you hold it there. Guys pulling sleds ect. hit 1600 in a heart beat and hold it the full pull...

Well i took pictures on Saturday night and moved the wires around a little bit. I went for a little drive today just to go pick up my son from school 2 blacks away and its working now it moved up and down with acceleration and deceleration so IDK whats up its never really moved since I bought the truck but me fiddling with it did something I guess. anyway the pic of my gauges i was at a stop for a minute or two and my probe is in my down pipe???? i guess right by my turbo

Yeah, that's where it should be... Accordin to my install instructions at least. I put mine farther down cause ingot lazy, figured it wouldn't be a big deal but it's a little off. Not enoughto matter at this point.

mine cruises at 75 running 850.

Can get it up to 1300-1400 on WOT though

UTAHFORD 09-16-2012 05:25 PM

So freeway speeds around 75 mph I read between 700-800 so if I add 100 to that because of my location I'm running800-900

Bdons-SD 09-22-2012 12:17 AM

700 sounds about right.

I know it's a Duramax... But Im seeing 500-700 daily driving. And 1200 Max at WOT. The WOT numbers are very low for a truck like mine but Ive spent alot of money getting parts that help EGT's for towing. Average for a Duramax at WOT with mods for racing is 1500 degrees in the 1/4. My probe is drilled and tapped in th BD drivers exhaust manifold.

Good to see the Ford's aren't much different... But 200 degrees seems really low. That's what I am at idle.

Ya I got it figured out works a lot better now

I haven't broken 1000 degrees yet, according to my black maxx, but the only thing I've hauled is my 1200lb ATV.

I'm usually around 700 @ 75 MPH... Using the factory pyro right now, so wherever that's located...

Mixedbreed 04-18-2015 10:57 AM

Lol I have hit 1650 on the 1/4 in Vegas. Cruising it's 8-900. But I am at 7400 feet and I find my toe tunes runs a lot cooler. Doing the summit (5% upgrade and a 1300 foot elevation climb in a few miles) and I hit 1100 tops at 80 mph.
