High EGTs after Airdog

The mods I have on my truck is just a Smart So6 Pod (non tnt), Ice box CAI, 5" exhaust. Stock turbo.

I installed an Airdog 150 gph this weekend. With my smarty set on 7...I took it for a test run. I pegged 1500* on my egts pretty quick. So I let off. Re tuned my truck to level 4. Took it for a spin...still hit 1500* at WOT.

Am I pushing to much fuel for the stock turbo? Or did the previous owner put bigger injectors in?

Before the Airdog install I couldn't touch 1300* on my pyro gauge.

I don't have signs of injector failure that I know of. No white smoke, no rough idle, no fuel in oil. Never had any problems with my egts untill the Airdog was installed

Thanks for the help.

Did it ever pop real bad when you got down on it before?? Possible you were just draining the rail before it could really heat up, and now she's got enough fuel to build the EGT's.....

Never had any rail pop... my Smarty was set to all default when I had it tuned! So I'm lost lol

Im seeing 1300 and 1500 thinking "holy crap". you get near 1200 on a 7.3 and you should be nervous ha ha.

I think my Airdog is at fault. I doesn't sound like its working properly. They are going to send me a new one so we will see!

The pump on the air dog is only maintaining fuel pressure to the cp3. The injectors only inject a metered amount of fuel based on dwell and nozzle size... I'm not saying it didn't have something to do with it, but I just don't see it... let us know what you find...

That was my thought as well...I just didn't understand why I started having this prob when I installed the lift pump.

I'll def let ya know!
