Davenportdiesel 03-23-2012 10:24 PM

Thanks y'all I acctually didn't pay but $200 for them tires from a kid wish I could get deals like that every day and I really like lights too it will be really lit up when it goes back together just not like that all my lights will be sunk into the bumper

01 D_Max 03-23-2012 10:32 PM

That's is going to look great! Cant wait to see the pics.

Davenportdiesel 03-23-2012 10:35 PM

And I can't wait to get it done but if you can't tell I'm pic happy with my truck so as soon as its done there will be pics do you think I should go with the smaller round light or the oval lights? led of course

01 D_Max 03-23-2012 10:42 PM

That's a tough one... Where exactly are you mounting them and how many were you thinking? Off the top of my head I can see the Oval ones with the double LED in each looking awesome, but it depends where you put them.

Big'un 03-23-2012 10:49 PM

Yea where at?

Davenportdiesel 03-23-2012 10:51 PM

On the front across the bottom of the bumper but I want then within an inch or two of each other I'm gonna get high count so there will be ten or 15 bulbs in each light and the on the ouch welds down each side hang on a min and I'll post a pic of my chevy it's all lit up... 1/2 ton diesel at that!!

Big'un 03-23-2012 10:55 PM

Man idk , i dont think itll look good

Davenportdiesel 03-23-2012 10:56 PM

01 D_Max 03-23-2012 10:58 PM

I frickin love lights, on trucks. That looks great. You have the oval on there and it's perfect. Do Ovals.

Big'un 03-23-2012 10:58 PM

Wow!!!!

Davenportdiesel 03-23-2012 11:07 PM

I believe that's what I'll do probably look better thanks and big'un I guess you like it??

01 D_Max 03-23-2012 11:10 PM

I want a light like KIT from Night Rider. That would look awesome.

Davenportdiesel 03-23-2012 11:12 PM

Is that a company or are you talking about the old show?

01 D_Max 03-23-2012 11:15 PM

It's the old tv show man. His car had the red light that went back and forth.

Davenportdiesel 03-23-2012 11:19 PM

Love that show I just didn wanna sound like a moron if that wasnt what you was talking about that would be freakins sweet man!!!

Big'un 03-24-2012 10:09 AM

Stroked68 03-24-2012 03:46 PM

I like the lights you mount down low below your doors like the big rigs. I saw recon has them. I love their cab lights. Great lookin trucks davenport! Gotta have lights so the morons out there will see ya haha. More lights the better. Plus just looks mean as hell. Im in the process of building my ranch hand style rear cab rack with leds in it.

Davenportdiesel 03-24-2012 05:38 PM

Thanks a lot man a lot of people don't like the lights and I understand that honestly if there not done rite they look like crap IMO. I've always liked the headache racks with the lights in em that is gonna look nice!!!!

I had a brain fart and couldnt think of the word headache rack haha. Yea I have the frame made just got to finish it and buy some more metal for my bed rail caps and the side pieces. Gonna kind of like a roll bar in my truck but it will be mounted on the bed rails. Then puttin a small safari rack on top with lights. Im gonna see if I can make it so I can haul two atvs in the back of my truck. I wish my truck was a long bed.

If you like the lights thats all that matters. I like the lights. Just mean lookin. Now if you put lights just anywhere on a truck, then yer goin overboard. Lights can make or break a truck. I've seen those lighted emblems for your grille. I wanted a ford one but cant find them anymore. Always thought those were cool or maybe put some lights behind the grill to make it glow or somethin.

Word of advice, shut the fuel off when hauling one of the ATV's in a wheelie position. I had 3 in a 12' enclosed trailer, and never shut off the fuel in mine. It didnt idle right for a long time after that.

Noted. Well the 450 is fuel injected and the brute is vacuum operated. I cant remember if its got an off postion. I know its got a prime position. I would like to haul 2 atvs and my dirtbike. I will be makin a bad ass bumper for the front with a reciever hitch so i can put my bike carrier on that and maybe I still can pull a trailer. Not sure if any of this will work though. Im lookin for a pop up camper too. I would love to have a toy hauler kind but if not I will just buy a normal pop up and add a deck to the front or somethin. I just done want to spend a ton of money. Im capable of makin my own stuff.

01 D_Max 03-24-2012 09:30 PM

That's gonna be picture worthy!

Stroked68 03-24-2012 11:53 PM

Oh the pictures will be put up for sure! I just made some cool mounts for my dual sport bike I will post up. I bought those Kolpin 1.5 gal fuel cans and mounted them on my bike for my long road trips. Turned out good. Just got it done today. Next is the headache rack since I have some extra cash for the metal.

Bdons-SD 03-25-2012 12:51 AM

Id like to see your headache rack when its done. Ive been planning mine in my head and I cant decide How I want to do it.

Davenportdiesel 03-25-2012 12:43 PM

Please take no offense to this because I think it would be nice just gonna be hard to do IMO sounds like trying to put 100lbs of $h!t in a 50lb bag but I hope you can do it because it will definitely be cool

Bdons-SD 03-25-2012 01:20 PM

I was thinking about using 3 inch square tubing, following the angle of the cab, putting "45's" (cutting 2 "22.5" degree agles, im not sure what the actual angle will be without dry fitting it. I was thinking make it about an inch taller than the cab with posts on either side for lumber/ladders. Then 2 uprights welded evenly in the middle, probably right in front of the seams for the slider. I may leave it empty, or do some expanded metal, or something else. I cant decide. Id like to follow a protech as closely as possible except it will be square tubing instead of the corners being beveled.
Talking about it is easier than executing it ha ha. Luckily my buddy used to be a fabricator for a door milling company, he used to fab up frames, tables, binding tables, all kinds of things. He said hed give me a hand. I have my own welder, but I work with wood, and wood has tolerances, metal does not and I have a tough time with that.

Stroked68 03-25-2012 09:12 PM

Yea wood is more forgiving. With metal I just measure and check over and over and do alot of tack welding to make sure. The frame turned out awesome. Perfectly square. I even drilled two holes in it to hide my tail light, back up, and work lights for the clean look.

Davenportdiesel 03-27-2012 12:04 AM

I really hope it works out for you man that is gonna be awesome I can't wait to see it!!

Davenportdiesel 03-27-2012 02:41 AM

http://i1262.photobucket.com/albums/...l/e2db7d5a.jpg http://i1262.photobucket.com/albums/...l/0531acc6.jpg 1 3/8" billet input shaft one of the simplest things I've done so far it took my longer to get it out of the foam it was sandwiched in inside the box than it did to put it in. about 30 mins total

Davenportdiesel 03-29-2012 09:45 PM

http://i1262.photobucket.com/albums/...l/89133e11.jpg it's finally all going back together hopefully it'll be in by Sunday then I've just Gta wait on my injectors to arrive

Big'un 03-29-2012 09:55 PM

:peace:

Bdons-SD 03-29-2012 11:44 PM
