I think its hawt as it sits, i know i had 10" wide wheels on mine with 33s and it rubbed quite a bit. Im pretty sure you will rub with 12s. Itd b odc with sum 12s on it as it sits now!

Bigbluediesel08 03-12-2012 11:06 PM

Thanks! Im really liking some new moto metal wheels that are coming out this month. If i get them, im going with 20x12s. But im thinking of lowering it back down.. Just not sure if they will rub.

Big'un 03-12-2012 11:12 PM

Post a pic of them meowww :peace:

I think it looks good as is man. 20s would look great though. as for the rubbing, im not sure what the tolerances are for the coil spring SDs

Bigbluediesel08 03-12-2012 11:38 PM

Maybe rub the radius arm, but not sure.. here is the link.

Yea there -44 offset , they will deff rub the fender and valence possibly bumper to

Bigbluediesel08 03-12-2012 11:52 PM

Dieselchick 03-12-2012 11:58 PM

the owner of the shop that did my tires for me drives a truck kinda like yours, 'cept he did the opposite and his has around 10 or so inches of lift. its pretty rediculous.

out of curiousity, why do you want to lower it and do the cops not bother you about your front plate being covered?

Bigbluediesel08 03-13-2012 01:25 AM

Just wanted to go back to stock height.. Better fuel mileage. Lol.. Cops here dont really mind about the plate, if it were a rookie, now thats a different story.. But so far it's been all good.. Knock on wood.

I hated getting pulled over when i was stationed in TX... the ole "slip in the military ID" trick didnt work well there. most of them were ex-military themselves so not alot of leeway with them.

What size tire are you wanting? thats whats gonna make the difference for you.

you can probably get away with a 2" level and some 33x12.50's

Was thinking 13.5 wide.. Dont really like the look of a stretched tire.. maybe 33s.. 35s won't fit correct?

Agjake11 03-13-2012 01:50 PM

if you left it where its at you could probably do 35's. 33x13.5's on 20x12 -44mm offset wheels will look sick but you might have to be slightly leveled up front. im at 20x10 -24mm and 305/55/20's and stock height and i rub on the rear inner fender liner when turning. your axles are wider and have better turning radius so id figure similar issues with the fender liners.

Big'un 03-13-2012 03:47 PM

Im with Jake

Bigbluediesel08 03-13-2012 05:18 PM

Thanks jake.. Think im gona install them with the lift.. Start from there.

westtnfx4 03-13-2012 05:58 PM

That truck is perfect. Not to tall not to low. I say leave it.

Thanks man!

Big'un 03-13-2012 09:30 PM

what are you doin to do with your current wheels & tires? :hmm:

Bdons-SD 03-13-2012 09:43 PM

I dont think theyll fit ha ha, at least i know the 05-08s dont fit due to a different offset.

Big'un 03-13-2012 09:49 PM

yes they will , i took some wheels off a 06 harley and put on mine

01 D_Max 03-13-2012 10:05 PM

That is the perfect lift. It's high enough to look modified, and fit oversized tires, yet low enough to not look redneck. It has class. My wife is short and would love being able to jump into that truck without needing a ladder. Dont change a thing IMO...

99-04 has a 5.5" back spacing, and the 05-08 have a 4.5". They sit in an extra inch, they rub on the leaf spring on a hairpin turn. and the inside of the rim rub on the control arm on the 17s, at least they did on my dads 02. hes tried an oem set off of an 05 fx4, i think it had the 18s, and he tried an aftermarket set off an 05 excursion.

theyll fit and you can run em, but theyll rub that there leaf spring.. it sucks..

Big'un 03-13-2012 10:53 PM

Mine rub the leafs now

Bdons-SD 03-13-2012 11:00 PM

hmm... thats odd... mine dont and I have the same size ties and only an extra inch of lift.

Keep it raised Bigbluediesel08.

Jarma36 03-15-2012 01:22 AM

Your truck looks great the way it is, but big tires on a stock height truck always look sick, I'll bet you could make them fit, might have to trim a bit...
