Its been out. Where you been? :happy175:

schroederMP 05-03-2012 03:09 AM

Not for the 03-05s ;)

And it will be once I go EFI

USMC1188 05-03-2012 11:33 AM

They are worthless vin locked, but all the owner that has it on their truck has to do is fully take it off their truck and then its unlocked for the next user

crackerjack 05-03-2012 12:34 PM

yeah that's why i was askin. i didn't know it was that easy to unlock em though

crackerjack 05-03-2012 12:35 PM

and sounds like a deal schroeder, just let me know

USMC1188 05-03-2012 12:36 PM

It is, by the previous owner. If you buy one thats locked, you are basically sitting on a $500 piece of worthless plastic and wires

My bad. If I'd read a little better I would have seen that... I looked at EFI live, but its hard for me to justify that much $ on a stock engine. That's why I'm looking at the Smarty Jr...

I agree, you would just be wasting money on EFI on a stock truck, that is why I haven't done it yet either. Once I get my power and mods up, that will change.

Never buy one new, get one used, so then once you are ready to move on, you aren't out anything and can sell it for the same or close to what you bought it for

schroederMP 05-03-2012 10:55 PM

EFI is not a waste on a stock truck...thats is what is amazing about it. They can write a custom tune JUST for your truck. There are 6.7s pushing 545hp to the wheels...everything else is stock.

Its a great tune and can really wake up a stock engine...and its cleaner buring thats a smarty. Smoke is cool, but I'm over it haha

crackerjack 05-04-2012 01:24 AM

i don't want the smoke i just want the smarty mostly just for the trans swap

schroederMP 05-04-2012 01:24 AM

Well once I got EFI my smarty is yours if you still want it

Or if you haven't got one by then lol

crackerjack 05-04-2012 01:53 AM

well i'm sure it'll take a couple months to find the parts to do the trans swap so it'll probably be around Dec or Jan, possibly even Feb before i need it
